Raymond Chevy Lee Vinson

He came into this world on October 23, 2018, perfectly healthy; he was his daddy's first biological son and my 5th son. He was so beautiful, absolutely perfect. Six days later, he would gain his wings. I don't talk much about that day, but we woke up like any other day. However, it wasn't like any other day; it was a nightmare, the kind you wish every single day you could wake up from. He wasn't breathing, and my fiancée and I performed CPR on him until the EMTs arrived. We followed the ambulance to the hospital, only to be told he had passed away. They conducted their investigation and treated us awfully. But we did everything they told us to do, including drug tests and multiple interviews. The coroner determined it was SIDS. He was with us for only 6 days, but he was so loved by us and his brothers. It doesn't get easier; it gets harder. We just learn to live with it. I don't know if I ever will, because some days are just harder than others to go on. But I will say, I know he's up there watching over us, and his brothers and now sister have one heck of a guardian angel.
